SPIRIT OF AUSTRALIA LEADERSHIP FORUM
On Thursday 26 February, six Year 10 students were selected to attend the Spirit of Australia Leadership Forum, a one of a kind event specifically designed for like-minded students with an interest to develop leadership skills.
This wasn’t just another leadership workshop; it was a chance to grow as leaders. Twelve other high schools attended, and we got the chance to meet new people and make new friends. As for the actual event, five accomplished speakers talked to us about their experiences in their meaningful lives. They also discussed the moment they realised they were a leader and what that entailed.
We were enlightened by the speeches given by historians, advocates, university students, engineers and even an internationally recognised neurosurgeon! Overall, the experience gave us a new perspective on what it takes to be a good leader, and it will definitely stick with us, as well as the new friends we made!
