THE VICTORIAN PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE
The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open and McKinnon Secondary College is excited to be taking part!
Students were invited to register via the Google form on the library website and last week log in details were distributed to students.
It is not a competition; it is a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by 5 September 2025.
Since it began in 2005, more than 4.5 million young readers have taken part and together read more than 63 million books!

2026 VICTORIAN PREMIER’S LITERARY AWARDS
The winners of the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards were recently announced. The winner of the John Marsden prize for Writing for Young Adults was This Stays between Us by Margot McGovern. This Stays between us is a love letter to 90s horror films. Four girls share a cabin in an abandoned town where the ghost of Smiling Jack haunts isolated campers.
