STATE BASEBALL CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to the Years 11 and 12 Senior Boys who on Tuesday 19 May became the Victorian State Baseball Champions!
The team worked hard throughout the day to stay in tight games, eventually giving them the opportunity to beat Melbourne High School in the Final! There were bombs hit, ripping catches taken in the field, triple plays made and concentration and patience shown from the pitching mound. More to come in the end of year Thistle article.

KINGSTON BOYS NETBALL / GIRLS FOOTBALL SPORTS DAY
On Monday 18 May the Kingston Boys Netball / Girls Football Sports Day took place at a variety of venues across the Kingston Area.

INTERMEDIATE TENNIS
Well done to the Girls and Boys Intermediate Tennis teams, both making the semifinals in a hard fought out day!
The girls had a great run and won all three games in the rounds, but unfortunately when playing our crossover final against Rowville, there was some incredible tennis being played but we just fell short of a grand final position. Semi-finalists at stats is still a fantastic result for the day!
The Intermediate Boys team won all their rounds comfortably and their semifinal against Bayside. They were lucky enough to make the grand final. Unfortunately, in some tough close matches against Rowville, they fell short losing 4 sets to 2.
What an amazing effort to make the state final though and still an incredible result to come state runners up!

VOLLEYBALL NEWS
A big congratulations to the Intermediate Girls and Senior Boys Volleyball teams for making it all the way to the State Finals!
It took a team effort with five matches on each day and some very close sets, and there is lots to be proud of with most of these athletes being able to play the same divisions next year.
Unfortunately, our Intermediate Girls finished 3rd overall and the Senior Boys fell short in the Grand Final to be named runners up, but we look forward to being back bigger and better next year.

KINGSTON CROSS COUNTRY
On Wednesday, Kingston Cross Country took place at Karkarook Park, with McKinnon students again proving their dominance on the course.
Congratulations to the following students who placed in the top 3 in their race:
1st place: Flynn Walker & Olin Buisman
2nd place: Maidi Uribe, Alex Abad Garcia & Aarav Vinothkumar
3rd place: Eva Kentera & Vinuk Fernando
The following teams of McK students came 1st:
17-20 girls - with an incredible clean sweep of 1st-4th place - Olin Buisman, Layn Swanson, Matilda Kelleher & Lucinda Ledger.
15 girls team - Eva Kentera, Lucy Ford, Luna Dunlop & Miranda Sacks.
14 boys team - Flynn Walker, Aarav Vinothkumar, Sylas Fox & James Tuladhar.
The following teams of McK students also placed in the top 3:
12-13 girls, 14 girls, 15 boys, 16 boys & 17-20 boys came 2nd & 16 girls came 3rd.
We wish all these students good luck for Regional Cross Country on the 9th of June.
