FRESH TAKE PRESS LAUNCH
On Friday 21 November, McKinnon was invited to the Fresh Take Anti-Vaping campaign press launch. Our Senior Captains, along with Ms Ferre, had the opportunity to represent our school's creative campaigns and see all of the final products that have been displayed around Melbourne.
Over the past five months we have been going through the creative process of developing and producing our campaigns targeted towards teenagers to help stop vaping habits, highlighting the damage it causes to your life.
From McKinnon, all of our Art Captains created spectacular campaigns, highlighting aspects such as health effects and wellbeing or even taking a play on “Mean Vapes” to create a more relatable campaign for our teenage audience. Through this process all the students had opportunities to work with creative mentors such as illustrators, animators or even designers to help us along with our creative process. This student-led project was an incredible opportunity to develop our understanding of how campaigns are put together but also how damaging vaping is for overall wellbeing that is hidden from most people.
From the support of VicHealth and surrounding councils, many schools were provided with the opportunity to bring awareness to fellow peers and the community around recent anti-vaping campaigns, ultimately tackling a prominent issue amongst many young people.
Make sure you head to the Fresh Take website and vote for our McKinnon campaigns!
