UNIT 2 CHEMISTRY - AREA OF STUDY 3 INVESTIGATION TASK
This past week in Chemistry, we were tasked with designing an investigation to find the most accurate indicator to use in an acid-base titration. We completed a few lessons of research and planning to design our titration between ethanoic acid and sodium hydroxide.
Our group decided to test three different indicators; bromothymol blue, phenol red and phenolphthalein. To our surprise, we found phenol red to be the most accurate indicator.
The next step is to evaluate our procedure and present our findings on a scientific poster. We've had a lot of fun this week working as a group and observing all of the pretty colours the indicators have displayed during the reaction!
