VISUAL ARTS
MEDIA NIGHT
Media Night was a monumental triumph! Our Visual Arts students, once again, went above and beyond this year to create many inspiring, and high-quality films for their VCE studies. The night featured films and media products from students in Units 1/2 and 3/4 Media. A wide selection of genres were explored this year. From animation and comedies to thrillers and documentaries, our students challenged themselves to create some really awe-inspiring pieces.
On the night, after viewing all films, guests were invited to nominate one film for a People’s Choice Award. Three additional awards were also presented to students who produced outstanding films in the following categories: Best Screenplay, Best Picture and Best Cinematography.
The award winners, and links to their film are below. A special thank you to Peter Quinn, Brendan Williams and Chris Babidge who acted as judges for the night, selecting our three award winners.
- Best Screenplay, awarded to Nathan Tyrrell for the film Buffer.
- Best Picture, awarded to James Barrett for the film Fulfil.
- Best Cinematography, awarded to Hugo Tran for the film Retrieval.
- People’s Choice, awarded to Nathan Tyrrell for the film Buffer.
Congratulations again to all students involved!
Thank you to Monica Lo Presti and Eliza Portelli for their efforts this year, and for coordinating such a brilliant night. The films created by our VCE Media students will also be on display during the Senior School Art Show which will be held later this year.
