SUCCESS STORIES
SCHOOL SPORT AUSTRALIA NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
In Volleyball news, the following students competed in the School Sport Australia National Championships, held in Canberra over the long weekend.
Rosie O’Brien and Brit Apps from Year 9 played for Volleyball for Victoria in the 15 and under division. Their team took out the gold medal and were undefeated for the championship. They lost only two sets for the full competition and won the gold in three hard fought sets. 25:23 25:23 25:20.
Congratulations to Rosie, Brit and the team.
Jayvier Yang in Year 8 also competed for Victoria in the 15 and under section. He was cheered on by Sam and Will Kay, McKinnon alumni who trained Jayvier a few years back. Sam and Will now reside in the ACT training for the National Volleyball Team and turned up just to support Jayvier.
The U15 boys also played well and were placed 5th in their event.
Jayvier had an amazing time in Canberra. He is enjoying his sport and making many new friends through competitions like this.
Well done Jayvier, we look forward to hearing about future events.
