YEAR 7 HOUSE NETBALL
From Monday 29 May to Thursday 1 June, a Year 7 House Netball Competition was organized by the Year 12 Sport House Captains and the PE Department. The competition took place during lunchtime, and the winners of each match were determined by the higher score at the end of two 10-minute halves.
The competition began on Monday with a match between Chisholm and Flynn. The Year 7 students participated with enthusiasm and displayed a competitive yet fun spirit. Chisholm emerged victorious in this match, earning them a spot in the Grand Final held on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the second match took place between Monash and Gilmore to determine who would face Chisholm in the final. Both teams showcased their best netball skills, but Gilmore emerged as the winner.
Finally, on Thursday at lunchtime, the highly anticipated Grand Final between Chisholm and Gilmore was played. The gymnasium was filled with Year 7 netballers and students from other year levels who came to support their respective houses. The final match was closely contested, with both houses matching each other goal for goal. However, in the last 5 seconds of the game, one team managed to score a goal, resulting in a final score of 5-6. The winner of the Grand Final was Gilmore!
We would like to say a huge thankyou to the PE Department and our fellow House Captains for putting on a spectacular netball competition. We would also like to say a huge thank you to all the students who played or came to support. And a final congratulations to our fellow House, Gilmore. We are so proud of everyone's efforts from Gilmore and thank you for helping our house get on top!
