JASMINE CHILCO-BURNS
Jasmine Chilco-Burns of Year 10 has provided an in-depth personal account of her time playing college basketball in the United States. Jasmine is an outstanding sports person and team player, and we congratulate her on being selected to tour.
“In December, I was invited to play in a basketball college recruitment tour in the US with Recruiting Boost.
My team was made up of players from around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada and the USA. I was the youngest at 15 and the others were 17-19 years old. My coach was an NCAA Div1 college coach.
I was so lucky to have the opportunity to learn from such an experienced coach who helped me to understand the expectations and what it will take for me to reach my goal of playing college basketball in the US. We first headed to Virginia/Washington DC to play in the She Got Game Classic. Then we went to Phoenix Arizona for the Tournament of Champions. The strength of the competition was fantastic, and we played against a lot of basketball Prep Schools from across the US and Canada, as well as the Netherlands u18 National Team. We had NCAA College coaches watching all the games.
Overall I had an amazing time, and it was a great experience. My favourite part other than playing, was touring the colleges and watching their games. I had so much fun and made some fantastic friends and memories”.

Some exciting match details below from Matt Davis, Team Manager, Year 12.
“The Futsal team consisted of:
Matthew Davis (Manager)
Gus Booth (Assistant Manager)
Benny Baldwin
Matt Berger
Bailey Kawalsky
Bailey Morgan
Patrick Pacak
Cameron Paech
Paxton Taylor (Captain)
Aaron Todes
The Elites FC, in their maiden season defeated a team consisting of the class of 2025 in an upset win to qualify for the Grand Final on Tuesday 17 February.
An early goal from Aaron Todes put the Elites FC up at half time with close to 75 spectators packing out GESAC for the game. Pressure acts without the ball and composure when in possession were key tactics heading into the Final and executed perfectly.
Defensive efforts from "the Sharks" and a few miraculous saves (including against a penalty in the final minute) from Best on Ground, Bailey Morgan, helped the Elites hold on to a 3-2 victory”.
