2024 MUSIC TRIP TO JAPAN
At 2am on Saturday 23 March, 2024, 56 students and 7 staff met at the front of the school with our luggage and less than four hours of sleep each, ready to go to Japan!
One 9hr 50min flight later and we arrived in Tokyo, Japan. We were all excited to finally experience the trip that we had heard about so much. During our tour of Japan we visited: Tokyo, Hamamatsu, Hiroshima & Kyoto. We also visited five high schools around Japan and got to perform a ‘show and tell’ performance with them, where we would first perform for them and then they would perform their pieces for us.
In between all of the performances, we got to be tourists and see what Japan was really like. On the second day of the trip, we went to the TeamLab Museum, on the third day of our trip we went to DisneySea (Tokyo) and on our penultimate day on the trip, we spent the day at Universal Studios (Kyoto).
After long days of sightseeing and travelling around the country on a bus & bullet train (once), a small group of students, with the help of the teachers, would concoct a summary of the day that would be posted to the blog for all families and friends to read.
A huge thank you to: Megan Papworth, Michael Kan, Lachlan Noble, Blanka West, Clare Bugeja, Tracy Videon, Dmitry Serebrianik, Ike and Nike (our tour guides) for an amazing tour and one that everyone will cherish forever.
